ZAREH NALBANDIAN JOINS MPIBS AS PATRON
Zareh Nalbandian, Animal Logic Co-Founder and CEO, has joined the Motion Picture Industry Benevolent Society as a Patron, announced MPIBS Chairman Murray Forrest today.
Nalbandian co-founded Animal Logic in 1991 and it is recognised as one of the world’s leading independent creative digital studios, producing award-winning design, visual effects, and animation for over 30 years.
Of his appointment as an MPIBS Patron, Nalbandian said: “It’s a privilege to join the dedicated team of patrons at MPIBS, to support their incredible efforts to lend a hand to those Australian film industry colleagues who are experiencing hardship and in need”.
Forrest said: “I am delighted Zareh Nalbandian has agreed to become a Patron of the MPIBS. Zareh has a well-deserved, world-wide reputation for excellence in creating and growing Animal Logic into a world leader in design, visual effects, and animation for over three decades.
Zareh has always remained committed to the Australian Film Industry and its people throughout
this period and shares the aspiration of the MPIBS to care for our industry colleagues in need”.
Conceived in November 1931, the MPIBS has continuously provided financial and emotional support to film industry colleagues in need for 90 years. Originally designed to assist film industry practitioners from Cinema Exhibition and Film Distribution in NSW, since 2003 the MPIBS remit has included those in need from Film Production and Post-Production, based anywhere in Australia.
MPIBS financial assistance is provided according to individual needs and may include regular monthly assistance; quarterly gas, electricity, and phone subsidies; contributions to special hospital treatments; private health fund payments; pharmaceutical expenses; emergency computer upgrades; urgent house and car repairs and, in some cases, funeral expenses.
The MPIBS is totally dependent on donations from industry individuals and companies. Donations of $2 or more are fully tax deductible.
“To help the MPIBS continue to provide support to our colleagues in need of a helping hand, we will happily accept any generosity at any time”, Forrest said

About the Motion Picture Industry Benevolent Society (MPIBS) - https://www.mpibs.org.au
Created in November 1931 by a group of film industry distributors and publicists (The 47 Club, formed in the late 1920s), the MPIBS has been continuously providing financial and emotional support for 90 years to film industry colleagues experiencing hardship. Originally designed to assist film industry practitioners from Cinema Exhibition and Film Distribution in NSW, since 2003 the MPIBS remit has included those in need from Film Production and Post-Production, based anywhere in Australia. Supported by a roster of prominent patrons, the MPIBS Governing Council consists of eight men and six women from across all sectors of the film industry. The 47 Club no longer exists but its legacy lives on in the MPIBS, now a Registered Charity under Section 16 of the Charitable Fundraising Act of 1991.
