Clare Cody
General Manager, Numero AU/NZ. Numero is owned by Vista Group, the world’s leading technology provider for the global film industry.
As the General Manager of Numero Australia and New Zealand, Clare is responsible for reporting the box office results for film distributors and ensuring complete box office collection from all cinemas in Australia and New Zealand. As such, Clare has regular dealings and close working relationships with exhibitors and distributors across Australia and New Zealand.
Clare commenced working at her local cinema in Canberra in the mid 1980s while still at school and progressed through the ranks to management positions at both the Capitol in Manuka and Greater Union Civic, while studying for her Bachelor of Commerce degree in accounting. After finishing her degree, Clare decided to pursue a career in Cinema, instead of accounting, and went on to manage Cinemas for Greater Union (now Event) in Sydney. Her favourite locations were The Pitt Centre, which was the premium location for quality film and festivals including the French Film Festival and Sydney Film Festival, and the busy multiplex at Miranda, where she oversaw a young team of 100 staff in the hey day of films such as Titanic and Babe. After being offered the premium location at the busy Broadway complex, Clare decided to move to Hoyts. Clare ran Hoyts Broadway successfully for 5 years and, after having children, returned to Hoyts in various roles including internal auditor, systems trainer and NSW Group sales.
In 2014, Clare assisted in the start up business, Numero, tracking box office for Film Distributors. Numero has allowed her to use her knowledge of numbers and data, her experience in cinema and her interest in film. Clare has provided input to the design and functionality of the Numero Platform and has been a part of the journey from start up to what Numero is today – a global success. Clare is proud that Numero is now the provider of the official box office in Australia on behalf of the MPDAA and it is widely used across the film industry.
Clare was invited to join the MPIBS as a council member in 2024.
